Does Oliver and the Me Black Canary Get Together

Green Arrow And Black Canary Just Met Their Future Daughter

Green Arrow and Black Canary meet Black Arrow, their daughter from a doomed alternate timeline, where Dinah was the archer and Ollie the Canary.

Costumed vigilantes Green Arrow and Black Canary have a complicated history together, made all the more confusing by things such as time-travel and the Multiverse. Before Flashpoint rebooted the DC Universe, Ollie and Dinah flirted on rooftops for many years until eventually falling in love and tying the knot... only to get divorced after years of secrets and betrayals. In certain timelines, the two even had children together. After spending years apart during DC's New 52 era, destiny ultimately brought them back together again. But as Green Arrow attempts to give Canary the first date they never had on the eve of the end of the world, their romance is interrupted by a stranger from an alternate universe - their future daughter.

It is a scary time to be alive in the DC Universe right now. With an army of nightmare Batmen transforming Earth into a hellscape worthy of a Black Sabbath album cover, the Multiverse's few remaining heroes and villains come together to reminisce the night before their final battle in Dark Nights: Death Metal - The Last Stories of the DC Universe. Romance and family are the two biggest topics among Earth's survivors, and Ollie and Dinah are no exception. As the two sit solemnly together in the ruins of Paradise Island, Arrow confesses that he regrets not having ever gone on a "real first date" with Black Canary.

Attempting to make the best of what little time they have left, Ollie and Dinah go on a romantic stroll through the ruins of Themyscirca, only to have their evening interrupted by a stranger going by the name Laurel Lance-Queen, their daughter from a doomed Earth.

Going by the code-name Black Arrow, Laurel wears the colors of both her parents on her costume (with stripes of fishnets up the sides). However, what's unique about her world is that the roles of Green Arrow and Black Canary were reversed - Dinah rocked the quiver and Ollie wore the fishnets. Laurel also wears a customized yellow crossbow on her left arm, a gift from her "aunt Helena," likely a reference to Dinah's crossbow-wielding teammate and fellow Bird of Prey, Helena Bertinelli AKA the Huntress. Sadly, Black Arrow's world was destroyed by the Batman Who Laughs and his horde of nightmare creatures from the Dark Multiverse. Her hope was to spend her final night on Earth with her parents, or at least the next best thing. Black Arrow boldly states that she plans to fight alongside her parents, and Canary agrees under the condition that she stay close and follow her lead when the fighting started.

Oddly enough, this isn't even the first time Oliver Queen has met one of his daughters from the future. During the events of Crisis On Infinite Earths (the Arrowverse crossover series), Oliver Queen got to meet his future daughter Mia thanks to some cosmic meddling from the Monitor. In that timeline, Oliver died when she was still a baby. In the Injustice comic book series, Green Arrow and Black Canary also have a baby, though Green Arrow is killed by a fascist version of Superman. The widowed Canary and her baby were eventually brought to an alternate Earth by Dr. Fate, one where Ollie was still alive and Dinah had died. No matter what universe they live in, it seems that Green Arrow and Black Canary are destined to be together. Ollie had intended to pop the question on their "first date," but chickened out at the last second. However, seeing "their daughter" all grown up and ready to carry on the fight, it's pretty clear that Oliver Queen is thinking about his future with Dinah Lance - however short it may be.
